Chaesundang Jayeon Hangadeuk Hanam Misa (채선당 자연한가득 하남미사점) is a shabu-shabu and spring roll restaurant on the third floor of a building near Misa Regatta Park in Hanam. We went as a family of four on a weekend in early April 2026 and had the wolnamssam shabu-shabu course, which comes with a self-service vegetable and side bar, then added two portions of hanwoo beef. The basic beef portion was small for our family, but the hanwoo we added was good, and the porridge at the end was a nice finish.

A weekend family dinner in Misa
Chaesundang is a Korean chain known for wolnamssam shabu-shabu (월남쌈 샤브샤브): you cook meat and vegetables in a pot of broth at the table and also roll fresh spring rolls in rice paper. My wife used to go to Chaesundang often when we lived in Gangdong-gu, and this Misa branch is close to where we live now, so it was an easy pick for a weekend dinner with the kids. There are a lot of shabu-shabu restaurants around Hanam these days, including buffet-style ones such as Shabu 20, and we had been to a shabu buffet not long before this.
The restaurant is on the third floor of the La Parco building near Misa Regatta Park, and parking in the building’s underground car park is free. The dining room is large and bright, which makes it comfortable for families and groups.

How it works and what it costs
You order one main shabu-shabu course per person, and each course includes a portion of meat, the broth and unlimited use of the self-service bar. If you want more meat or a side dish, you order it separately. Children of elementary school age pay a lower price, and preschool children eat free. These were the prices in April 2026:
| Item | Korean | Price (won) |
|---|---|---|
| Wolnamssam shabu-shabu (per person) | 월남쌈 샤브샤브 | 18,900 |
| Wolnamssam hanwoo shabu-shabu | 월남쌈 한우 샤브샤브 | 24,900 |
| Wolnamssam spicy mushroom shabu-shabu | 월남쌈 매운 버섯 샤브샤브 | 20,900 |
| Special mixed shabu | 스페셜 모둠 샤브 | 28,000 |
| Elementary school child | 초등학생 | 9,000 |
| Preschool child | 미취학 아동 | free |
| Extra Australian beef, 100 g | 호주산 소고기 | 8,000 |
| Extra hanwoo beef, 100 g | 한우 | 12,000 |
| Extra US brisket, 100 g | 미국산 차돌 | 10,000 |
| Extra US top blade, 100 g | 미국산 부채살 | 10,000 |
| Mixed mushrooms | 모둠 버섯 | 3,000 |
| Pork cutlet | 등심돈까스 | 8,000 |
| Chicken karaage | 치킨 가라아게 | 8,000 |
We ordered the basic wolnamssam shabu-shabu for the four of us: two adults and two elementary school children. At the listed prices, two adults (37,800 won), two children (18,000 won) and the 200 g of hanwoo we added later (24,000 won) come to 79,800 won. That is a calculation from the menu prices, not our receipt, which we did not keep.
The self-service bar
After ordering, you take bowls to the self-service bar and fill them with whatever you want to cook or wrap: leafy greens, bean sprouts, mushrooms, sliced vegetables, fish cakes, fish balls, cheese rice cakes, noodles, rice paper, and several dipping sauces. Our kids especially liked the fish balls and cheese rice cakes. A sign by the bar says that the restaurant does not reuse food (음식물을 재사용하지 않습니다).

By the time we were back at the table with our bowls, the broth had been set on the induction burner. You control the heat yourself. Our kids are old enough now to put the vegetables into the pot themselves, which they treated like cooking.

The beef
The basic course comes with thin slices of Australian beef. For a family with a son who can eat two or three portions of shabu beef on his own, the amount felt small, and we would have liked more. The kids ate the Australian beef without much comment.

After the included meat was gone, we added two portions of hanwoo. The difference in quality was clear: the hanwoo was tender and nutty, and the kids said it was delicious as soon as they tried it. If you go, I would budget for extra meat from the start, and make it hanwoo.

Spring rolls
The wolnamssam part of the meal is DIY: you soften a sheet of rice paper, add cooked beef and fresh vegetables from the bar, roll it up and dip it in one of the sauces. It is a good way to eat more vegetables with the meat.

Porridge to finish
At the end you can cook noodles or make porridge (juk) in the leftover broth. We made porridge: rice and vegetables simmered in the broth, finished with egg, sesame oil and crumbled seaweed. When our kids were small, this porridge was the part of shabu-shabu they ate most. Now they eat the meat first, but we still always finish with it.

What we thought
Chaesundang in Misa is a comfortable, easy place for a family shabu-shabu dinner, with free parking, a big dining room, a well-stocked self-service bar and a price for kids. The downside for us was the amount of meat in the basic course, which made us wonder if we should have gone to one of the all-you-can-eat shabu places instead. The hanwoo we added was the best part of the meal, and the porridge at the end was good. I am giving it 4.0 out of 5.
