Dalbit-e Goeun Sundaeguk (달빛에고은순대국) is a sundaeguk restaurant in Sokcho, Gangwon-do, near Hotel The Blue Terra. We had breakfast there as a family on Saturday, February 21, 2026, the morning after our crab dinner at Daepohang. Four of us shared three bowls of sundaeguk at 10,000 won each. The broth was clean and rich at the same time, each bowl was full of meat, and all four of us were happy with it, the kids included.

Breakfast before leaving Sokcho
We were in Sokcho for one night. The evening before, we had snow crab at Meoguri Hoetjip in Daepohang, and in the morning we checked out of Hotel The Blue Terra and needed breakfast for the kids before heading home. Our kids like sundaeguk, and we buy it for them often, so when a Naver search showed a well-reviewed sundaeguk place near the hotel, we went there. It is about 500 meters away, a minute by car.
In Sokcho we would normally have gone to Abai Village for sundae rather than to a place by our hotel. This is a different kind of place: a newly opened, modern sundaeguk restaurant. We did not expect much because it had only just opened and had few reviews, but it turned out to be one of the better bowls of sundaeguk we have had.
What sundaeguk is
Sundaeguk (순대국) is a pork soup served with a bowl of rice. The bowl has slices of boiled pork and sundae, Korean blood sausage made with glass noodles, in a milky pork broth. It usually comes unseasoned, and you season it yourself at the table with salted shrimp (saeujeot), a spicy chili paste called dadaegi, salt and pepper. You can eat the rice on the side or tip it into the soup.
Inside and ordering
The restaurant is clean and bright, with a modern interior, not the old-style look we had expected. There were plenty of empty tables when we arrived, so we sat down straight away. You order on a kiosk at your table, and a man who seemed to be running the place greeted us warmly.

The menu is all sundaeguk and related dishes. These are the prices from the menu when we went:
| Dish | Korean | Price (won) |
|---|---|---|
| Sundaeguk | 순대국 | 10,000 |
| Spicy sundaeguk | 얼큰 순대국 | 11,000 |
| Sulguk (soup to share with drinks) | 술국 | 18,000 |
| Osori-gamtu (pork stomach) | 오소리감투 | 15,000 |
| Boiled head meat, medium | 머릿고기 中 | 25,000 |
| Boiled head meat, large | 머릿고기 大 | 29,000 |
| Mixed sundae plate | 순대 모둠 | 18,000 |
There is also a sundaeguk set meal (순대국 정식). We only ordered the plain sundaeguk.

Side dishes and the self-service bar
Each table gets kimchi, kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and onion. Extra side dishes such as green chili peppers and seasoned chives are at a self-service bar. There were no seasoned chives when we first went up, but they had been put out the second time. The kimchi and kkakdugi were ordinary, fine with the soup but nothing special.

The sundaeguk
The soup came in a black stone bowl, with a milky-white broth and a lot of meat. The broth was clean but still deep and rich, and it did not have any strong seasoning taste. The pork was soft and tender with no gamey smell. What surprised us most was the amount of meat for 10,000 won: every spoonful came up with pieces of pork.

We seasoned ours with the chili paste, salted shrimp, salt and pepper that are set out on the table. The pork is also good on its own, dipped in a little salted shrimp.
Free sample of innards
With the sundaeguk, they brought out a small free plate of pork innards: ear, lung and liver. Liver can be dry and crumbly, but this was moist and a bit chewy, and my wife, who usually skips liver, ate it and liked it. After tasting the sample, we thought the boiled meat dishes on the menu would be worth ordering next time.

Three bowls for four people
We ordered three bowls for the four of us: one each for my wife and me, and one for the two kids to share, with rice mixed in. Usually when our kids share a bowl of sundaeguk, there is not quite enough meat or broth, and my wife ends up giving them some of hers. Here the shared bowl still had meat left in it after we had filled both of their bowls. The kids ate well, and all four of us left full.

We left a Naver receipt review at the table and got a free drink for it.
What we thought
For 10,000 won a bowl, this was excellent: a clean, rich broth, soft pork with no smell, a lot of meat, and a free plate of innards on the side. It is a good breakfast stop if you are staying around Hotel The Blue Terra, and it works well with kids. I am giving it 4.5 out of 5. The only average part was the kimchi.
